This watercolor is the first in the new Enchanted Forest series. I do not know yet whether I will paint all the paintings in watercolor, but in any case they will be abstract. This watercolor was about creating structures with salt – either dissolved or as a cluster. In the lower part of the painting I sprinkled so much salt that I couldn’t remove it when it was dry. But it sparkles quite nicely. I used a toothpick to pull color out of the trunk and in this way indicate branches. In addition, rubbing the toothpick on the paper creates other structures. With a drinking straw, I spread paint, as I’ve done it a few times before.
