The motif of the painting haunted my head for a long time. So, I painted again without a reference photo, like most of the time. It was also possible to try and compare the two colored masking liquids that I have. They both stink like the plague, but leave no residue and the paper does not break when they are removed. The paper certainly plays a big role too, and for the Hahnemühle paper I use, I can say that it is of high quality. The selected colors are also harmonious; the Olive Green dries more intense than expected, which is why I applied a thin layer of Cobalt Blue. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that I had masked the foam crowns too thick, which is why they appear too big in the result.
