I had only heard good things about Pastelmat. That’s why I’m so disappointed that it does not meet my expectations. The velvety surface feels great, but as soon as you draw on it with a pastel pencil, the pencil pushes through and the drawn lines shine through the upper layers. In addition, the first layer can not be veneered at all, but the pigments immediately adhere to where they have been applied with the pastel. I have four more sheets Pastelmat and of course I will consume them too. But I also will continue to search for a good pastel paper that meets my needs.
