The artist set compiled by Kevin Hill was a chance to try Gamblin oil paints and a gessoed birch panel at the same time and for the first time. As a result, I’m a bit disappointed with the paints by Gamblin, especially with Titanium White. It is even more sticky in its consistency than the other paints, and without medium none of them can be applied. I painted on a very smooth panel, that I`ve got really fond of, but that is just 6 x 12 inch in size and I already used half of the medium tube. The reference picture I`ve taken by myself during a vacation to Iceland in 2002; feels like 1000 years ago. Doreen.
