This is the second try this year to paint sunflowers in Loose Wash and Negative Painting. As this flower has so many petals it is not as easy to paint as a poppy that has only four petals. That’s why I finally highlighted the petals, leaves and stems with an ink pen. I know, it means you should only show your good paintings. But I see that differently. Every artist has a bad day or does not get a painting painted as he or she would like. I think this painting has already gotten better than the first one a few weeks ago and maybe I finally get it right on the third try. The summer is not over yet. Doreen.
